In the Media: Alzheimer's Study Utilizes Proteomics Panel Technologies

As Alzheimer’s Awareness Month comes to an end, we note publication of a study of plasma protein biomarkers for this increasingly common neurological disease. The research, published in Translational Psychiatry and found here, sought to identify plasma proteins associated with potential blood-based biomarkers in asymptomatic older twins. The study utilized SOMAScan technology. Results indicated that the plasma protein level of MAP2K4 and MAPKAPK5 may be possible biomarkers of early AD.
